I just had a rather unfortunate time at the Houston Marriott Westchase this weekend, and I want to share my experience so others can be aware.
This hotel is not built to handle being at capacity during the summer. Our room's air conditioning was non-functional when we arrived, then they had a tech come by and fix it the following day. By the time we wanted to go to bed though, the AC was back to being non-functional. Sleeping when it's 77 degrees and the air is completely still isn't a good time, so we had to go buy some fans to move the air around.
There were also maintenance issues with the shower and toilet - the toilet was running the entire time we were at the hotel, and the mechanism for switching between the bath faucet and shower head was barely working.
Overall I would not recommend staying at this property. This is a running theme with Marriott properties, so I think I'm just going to avoid attending events at Marriott properties from now on.
